Module 2

Regulation

The trend of online shopping in Bosnia and Herzegovina is constantly rising. According to the latest research, as high as 72% of BiH citizens use online payment and e-commerce data in 2021 show that Bosnia and Herzegovina is recording an astronomical growth:

  • the number of new e-shops grew by 35%,
  • the value of such trade increased by about 312%,
  • the volume of transactions grew by almost 370%

These data do not include the turnover realized at payment on delivery, which still makes the vast majority of online transactions. Although such huge growth is partly a result of the pandemic period, our analysis show that e-commerce continues to grow.

In addition, the awareness of the advantages of using online commerce is continuously increasing, so it is not surprising that more and more entrepreneurs agree that creating a web shop is one of the most profitable business decisions today.
